MISSION STATEMENT

The American Justice Foundation, Inc. (AmJF) is a non-profit public educational and advocacy organization dedicated to promoting justice, freedom, fairness, the proper use of power, individual and societal development, and public safety throughout the world. AmJF will accomplish its mission through the following:

Improving societal responses to the crime and illness of sexual abuse for both victims and offenders.

Promulgating a proportional response to each offense.

Fostering better education of the public; mental health and criminal justice professionals; victims, offenders, and family members; and legislators regarding sexual abuse.

Building a model for effective intervention that is not adversarial in form. The interests of victims, offenders, and society are mutually compatible.

Moving to calm the current hysteria and fear regarding sexual abuse.

Serving as an information collection and dissemination center.

Monitoring existing criminal justice and mental health systems for adequacy and accountability in their response to sexual abuse.

Promotion of new and remedial legislation.

Pressing for better institutional and non-institutional responses to sexual abuse.

Promotion of community support programs for sexual abuse victims, offenders, and families.

Improvement of private and governmental funding for services including individualized assessment, better systems of treatment, and research.

Coordinating activities of state and local advocacy groups.

Liaison with other national and international justice related organizations.

Delineation and enforcement of individual rights for safety and rehabilitation.

Receiving funds in support of all of the above.
